Our story

It started withone question.

“What if every child on this lane got a real shot at school?” That is the question Vikash Pathak asked in 2022, after meeting a girl who had been pulled out of class to help at home.

The foundation began as a single-room learning centre with thirty children. Today we run scholarships, a computer lab, spoken-English coaching and the NIOS pathway across thirty-five communities in Uttar Pradesh.

We have stayed close to the original question. Every programme we run still has to answer it — does this give a child a real shot?

What drives us

Three statementswe hold ourselves to.

Mission

To give every child an equitable, genuinely good education regardless of what their family can afford — and to send them out of it with skills that lead to a dignified livelihood.

Vision

A society where no child is denied learning because of where they were born. A future where opportunity stops being a privilege and starts being the default.

Values

Transparency in every rupee. Dignity in every interaction. Community at the centre of every programme. And a stubborn commitment to outcomes, not outputs.

Our journey

Four years ofshowing up.

  1. 2022

It begins in a single room

Vikash Pathak starts the foundation in Noida — teaching a handful of out-of-school children to read, write and count from scratch, with a blackboard carried from home.

  2. 2023

    Word spreads through the lane

More families send their children as the room fills. Evening classes are added so children who work during the day can still learn.

  3. 2024

    A real learning centre

We move out of the single room into a dedicated space with proper seating, a small library, and enough room to grow. Local college students join as the first volunteers.

  4. 2025

    Skills from day one

Spoken English and a hands-on computer lab join the daily timetable. Five academic teachers, a computer teacher and an English-speaking expert come together to cover every age group.

  5. 2026

    The NIOS pathway

Our first students step onto the National Institute of Open Schooling route — a legally recognised board degree at minimal cost. Four years in, the focus stays on outcomes.

Vikash Pathak, founder of Pathak Education Foundation
We didn't start this tobuild an institution. Westarted because a childwanted to learn.

Every programme, every centre, every rupee comes back to that one promise. We are not done until the answer is yes for every child on the lane.
